A big story: a software engineer got a religious exemption from AI

You’ve probably been hearing about this one already, but this case is especially surprising to many people because the individual is a software engineer.

The AV Club covered the story in early June here. According to the article, “engineer Erin Maus successfully lobbied her tech company employers on the idea that, as a Unitarian Universalist, using AI was opposed to her ethical and environmental beliefs, and is now back to happily writing her code by hand.” (You can also read about it on Business Insider.)
